Angke River Sheet Pile in West Jakarta Being Repaired

The West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has repaired the Angke River sheet pile, which was leaking and seeping at RT 13/04, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district.

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti said the leaking and seeping sheet pile occurred during the heavy rain that occurred four days ago, causing the river to overflow and inundate residential areas.

"We deploy ten personnel to the location and the repair has been ongoing since two days," she expressed, Tuesday (1/9).

According to her, it was conducted using cement mortar and bricks to cover four leaking sheet pile points.

"Currently, the leaking point has been sealed tightly," she stated.

RT 13/04 Chairman, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, M Nahrowi (53), appreciated the personnel's quick response who repaired the Angke River sheet pile.

"It causes inundation in the residential areas due to heavy rain sometimea ago," he added.

Hence, residents expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the ranks of the West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency who had repaired the Angke River sheet pile in their area.

"Hopefully, it can minimize flooding when it rains," he hoped.
